Quote Analysis Act 3 Scene 5 (Romeo & Juliet)
“Delay this marriage for a month, a week, or if you don’t, make the bridal bed in that dim moment where Tybalt lies.” – Juliet
On its own this quote points to the fact that Juliet wants the marriage to be postponed otherwise she would rather die.
The word ‘dim’ in this tense refers to a situation that is not giving hope or optimism. It can also mean something not shining bright or clearly which could give a hint to her future and how its not going to end well.
As a whole this quote is referring to how she would only marry Paris when she is dead if they don’t delay the marriage they have planned for her.
